Concrete Base for a Bike Storage Box (Front Garden)

A bike storage box needs a solid, level base—otherwise doors can bind, the box can twist over time, and the area can quickly look untidy. For this project, I built a concrete slab base in the front garden to create a clean, stable platform for a bike storage box.

The brief

Make sure the finished base sits cleanly within the existing layout

Create a flat, stable base for a bike storage box

Use concrete for durability and low maintenance

Keep the front garden neat and practical for everyday use

Planning & set-out

The footprint was marked out first to confirm the best position and size, working around the existing edges and keeping everything aligned.

Preparation

Materials and tools were prepared in advance so the work could be completed efficiently and with a clean finish.

The build

The area was prepared and formed to create a neat slab. The concrete was poured and finished level to provide a strong base suitable for the bike storage box.

After curing, the slab provides a durable platform that’s easy to keep clean and helps the box sit properly.

Final result

Once the bike storage box was installed, the space became far more practical and tidy—secure storage with a proper base underneath.
